The incident that will most likely follow Mokoena for the rest of his life is being expelled from the 1998 World Cup camp after missing curfew.
As a 20-year-old, the ex-Bucs midfielder was sent home from the Bafana camp by coach Philippe Troussier, having been included in the squad for South Africa's first World Cup.
Wearing the latest Kasi Flavour cardigan, Mokoena spoke about their first game in the tournament against hosts France to Kasi Flavour 10's Kungwane and other career milestones like making his professional debut at Moroka Swallows.

After detailing the missed curfew incident, Mokoena spoke frankly about the current state of South African football and mentioned that more ex-players need to get involved in the system.
"The standard of football in South Africa is just going down the drain," said the frank Mokoena.
