Weekend Report For The Bafana Boss

With many of the European leagues getting back underway after the winter break, a number of South Africans were in action abroad.

The most successful of the lot were the SA duo of Thulani Serero and Kamohelo Mokotjo, who are based in Netherlands, with Serero scoring in one of his games over the past week.

Mokotjo started in PEC Zwolle's 5-1 thumping of JVC Cuijk in the Dutch Cup before helping his side to a 2-1 win away to NAC Breda on Saturday.

Serero scored in Wednesday's 3-1 Dutch Cup win over Feyenoord, and played 85 minutes of their 1-0 away win over Go-Ahead Eagles at the weekend.

There were mixed fortunes for those in England and Belgium, while another player was added to the list of European exports as Andile Jali completed his move from Orlando Pirates to KV Oostende.

Kamohelo Mokotjo (PEC Zwolle, Netherlands): Played in Wednesday's 5-1 home Dutch Cup win over JVC Cuijk and in Saturday's 2-1 away win over NAC Breda. 24 starts, two goals. Team Position: 9/18

Thulani Serero (Ajax Amsterdam, Netherlands): Came on after 78 minutes and scored in Wednesday's 3-1 Dutch Cup win over Feyenoord and then came off after 85 minutes of Sunday's 1-0 away win over Go-Ahead Eagles. 20 starts, six sub appearances, four goals. Team Position: 1/18

Bongani Khumalo (Doncaster Rovers, England, loan): Played in Saturday's 1-1 away draw with Blackpool and received a yellow card. 26 starts, one goal. Team Position: 20/24

Anele Ngcongca (Racing Genk, Belgium): Played in Sunday's 2-1 home loss to Gent. 32 starts, one sub appearance. Team Position: 6/16

Kgosi Ntlhe (Peterborough United, England): Came off at halftime of Tuesday's 4-3 home win over Notts County. 24 starts, five sub appearances, two goals. Team Position: 7/24

Ayanda Patosi (Lokeren, Belgium): Came on after 76 minutes of Friday's 1-0 home loss to Standard Liege. 12 starts, seven sub appearances, one goal. Team Position: 5/16

Tokelo Rantie (Bournemouth, England): Came on after 73 minutes of Saturday's 2-0 home FA Cup loss to Liverpool. 11 starts, seven sub appearances, one goal. Team Position: 16/24 (transferred from Malmo, Sweden – 23 starts, five sub appearances, 10 goals)

Darren Keet (KV Kortrijk, Belgium): Played in Saturday's 4-3 home loss to Lierse. 27 starts. Team Position: 7/16

Dean Furman (Doncaster Rovers, England): On the bench. 19 starts, three sub appearances, one goal. Team Position: 20/24

Kagisho Dikgacoi (Crystal Palace, England): Injured (calf). 15 starts. Team Position: 16/20

Daylon Claasen (Lech Poznan, Poland): Winter Break. League resumes February 16. Seven starts, one sub appearance, two goals. Team Position: 3/16

Andile Jali (KV Oostende, Belgium): Transferred from Orlando Pirates. Yet to play. Team Position: 12/16 

Siyanda Xulu (FC Rostov, Russia): Winter break. League resumes March 8. 12 starts, one sub appearance. Team Position: 11/16
