After starting the COSAFA U-20 Men's Championship with a big victory, Amajita were held to a 1-1 draw by Madagascar on Sunday afternoon.
Helman Mkhalele's side began the campaign in fine style after thrashing Mauritius 5-0 on Thursday evening, although the coach made two changes from the win as Goalkeeper Bontle Molefe and Selaelo Rasebotja came in for Olwethu Mzimela and Keaagn Mitchell.
It was the battle of the top two in Group B after Madagascar started their campaign with a 3-0 triumph over Lesotho, although South Africa made the early inroads with Oswin Appolis going close in the opening 10 minutes.
While the opening game had a number of goals for the South Africans, the first half proved to be a scrappy affair as both sides struggled to carve out clear-cut openings.
The deadlock was eventually broken ten minutes into the second half, courtesy of a strike from Soloniana to put Madagasacar ahead.
It took a while for South Africa get level but they were rewarded in the 79th minute as Sinenjongo bagged his second goal of the tournament to earn a point for the defending champions.
