Sekhukhune United are building for the future as they turn their attention to youthful talent, with a particular focus on defensive reinforcements, the Siya crew understands.
Insiders close to the club and player have indicated that Sekhukhune are believed to be interested in 21-year-old Umsinga United defender Sakhiseni Benya, who is already training with Babina Noko.

The sources added that Benya has impressed Sekhukhune's scouts and recruiters, leading to an invitation for him to train with the team. The young defender is now working to secure a spot in the squad for next season.
"The team is building a squad for the future while at the same time preparing to play in Africa next season. That's their target to finish in the top four and compete again in Africa and that's why they are looking at recruiting these young players like Benya. The scouts are very happy with him, and now, since he will be training with the team it's time to impress the technical team. But he is still young and has a lot to offer to the team come next season," the insider told the Siya crew.
A second insider stated that the club is looking to gradually upgrade its aging defenders by blending youth with experience in the backline.
"If you look at Vuyo (Letlapa) that's how they want it (with young players like him), to be replacing the experienced defenders gradually and as they are bringing in the 21-year-old central defender they are looking at, to mix youth and experience as they build a team that will have continuity," the second source revealed.

Umsinga United coach Smart Ndlovu confirmed Sekhukhune United’s interest in Benya with Soccer Laduma.
"Yes, that's true, Sakhi is on his way to Sekhukhune United. They wrote us a letter to request him. He will start training with them on Monday. He is a very good defender. He is still young but very good," Ndlovu told the Siya crew.
Despite attempts to get an official comment from Sekhukhune United, no response had been received at the time of publication.
