Following disappointing results as the season is nearing an end, Pretoria Callies FC have become the latest club to make coaching changes.
Callies have parted ways with head coach Fabio Lopez, following a string of disappointing results in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Lopez, an Italian tactician and UEFA Pro Licence holder, was appointed at the start of the 2024/25 season.

However, after overseeing 24 league matches – with just seven wins, six draws, and 11 losses – Callies find themselves languishing in 13th place on the log.
The club’s most recent defeat, a 2-1 loss to Leruma United on Sunday, proved to be the final straw.
With only one victory in their last five outings, both parties agreed it was time for a change.
“Pretoria Callies FC and Fabio Lopez, who has been the club’s head coach, have reached an amicable agreement to terminate their working relationship,” a club source confirmed.
In a move aimed at steadying the ship, Callies have turned to a familiar face – former head coach Bushy Moloi.

Moloi, who was replaced by Lopez at the beginning of the season, returns to the technical team and will share duties with former Marumo Gallants assistant coach Mpho Maleka.
“The club has since appointed Bushy Moloi and Mpho Maleka as co-coaches ahead of the team’s next match in Cape Town against Cape Town Spurs on 22 April 2025. Both Moloi and Maleka will be with the team until the end of the season,” the source added.
