The South African Police Service have provided an update on the investigation into the murder of Marc Batchelor.
The former professional footballer was gunned down outside his home in Olivedale in Johannesburg on Monday evening in a suspected hit, after two male suspects riding in motorbikes shot several bullets at him through his car window before they fled the scene, as confirmed by the police.

Batchelor died on the scene and tributes have been pouring in from the football fraternity since the unfortunate incident took place.
When called for an update, Police Spokesperson Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, replied, "We are investigating."

Asked if they have gained any leads, he replied, "Yes, but I don't want to elaborate." He added, "We have also asked members of the public to come forward if they have any information, and report it to Crime Stop."
Batchelor played for Mzansi's big guns, including Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits, during his succesful career.
