Mothiba's journey comes full circle as he rejoins his boyhood club, having been part of the Sundowns academy from 2007 to 2009 before moving abroad.
His return has been met with enthusiasm, with the club stating: "He's flown the South African flag overseas, now Lebo Mothiba is here to add more forward firepower to Bafana Ba Style! Welcome to the home of the Champions, Lebo!"
After recovering from a lengthy injury, Mothiba has been training with Sundowns since January.
Recently, Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso noted that Mothiba has been in the final stages of his recovery and has already integrated into the group, expressing optimism about his future contributions.
Mothiba's physicality and experience are expected to bolster Sundowns' attacking options as they compete in the Betway Premiership, Nedbank Cup, CAF Champions League, and the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
