The Siya crew has been led to believe that a recently signed Mamelodi Sundowns player is making strides towards finally making his first appearance for the reigning Premiership champions.
Sundowns confirmed the signing of Lebo Mothiba early this month, adding to an already lethal attack which features the likes of Iqraam Rayners, Peter Shalulile and Lucas Ribeiro Costa.

It's understood that the player has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to give himself a shot at playing a role in the final few weeks of the campaign, as Sundowns look to complete a treble of trophies in the Betway Premiership, CAF Champions League and Nedbank Cup.
The player has been training with the rest of his teammates and could be given an opportunity to be in the matchday squad in the near future, with a possibility of first getting a few minutes to improve on his fitness before getting a chance to be in the starting line-up for the Tshwane giants.
The Siya crew understands that Cardoso sees Mothiba as a player who can make a contribution to the club this season, considering he brings a different dimension in terms of how he plays. Unlike the other strikers Sundowns have, Mothiba is a typical number nine and they can call on the experienced campaigner to play in that role to allow other players in the team to play more balls into the box for him to finish.

Sundowns, meanwhile, will be back in action when they take on Sekhukhune United in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals on Friday. This was a postponed match and will now be played just four days before their CAF Champions League quarter-final clash against Tunisian giants Esperance.
