In Remembrance of John 'Shoes' Moshoeu

In Remembrance of John 'Shoes' Moshoeu

Today, Saturday, 21 April 2018, marks three years since the death of South African football legend, John 'Shoes' Moshoeu.

Moshoeu died on 21 April 2015, after a long battle with cancer. The former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana midfielder is remembered for his immense talent and his great contribution to Mzansi football.

'Shoes' also played for various top Turkish clubs for over a decade, between 1993 and 2003, before his return to finish his career at home.

At the age of 37, Moshoeu was still a fan favourite while continuing to play in the PSL before officially retiring from football in 2014.

The legend was capped 73 times for the South African senior national team and scored eight goals in his Bafana career.
