The 31-year-old central defender joined the Clever Boys last month, but has faced a lengthy spell on the sidelines as he waited for his South African work permit to come through.
Now, with the Dutchman having made his debut in Wits' 1-0 win over Maritzburg United, Hunt believes that he will continue to improve as time goes on.
Speaking to the media about the former NAC Breda man, Hunt said, "He made a huge difference last night. I knew what I was getting when I saw him the first day, and last night was evidence of that. The team was compact and he made all the difference.
"Anybody who has played at the level he's played, for the time he's played, adds what I'm looking for. I still think he'll take time to settle, like any other foreigner, but look at (Alje) Schut, he took time but then was their Player of the Season last year.
"I think Kees can give us that sort of balance, and he's left footed which is very important. You don't find left-footed centre backs, they're like gold. When I saw him train for the first time I grabbed him straight away."

Kwakman is expected to line up alongside Buhle Mkhwanazi once again this weekend as Wits look to overcome a 2-0 deficit in the second leg of their MTN8 semi-final tie with Orlando Pirates.
