Just a few months ago, fan favourite Karabo 'Stitch' Tshepe was playing 'Kasi' football. Now, he's back in the big time and raring to show why he belongs in the top flight.
Following an internal disciplinary hearing at Black Leopards back in March, where the attacker was found guilty for misconduct, the 31-year-old parted ways with Lidoda Dhuvha three months before the expiry of his contract.
The dribbling wizard spent seven months on the sidelines, biding his time while keeping fans at local football fields in Soweto entertained with his tricks and flicks.
Now, the midfielder is back in the DStv Premiership, having penned a deal with newcomers TS Galaxy, and he has spoken to the Siya crew about his excitement of playing in the elite league once again.
"It feels great to be back you know, being out for seven or eight months is not nice, not having a salary every month, it was quite hectic you know, but now that I am back at TS Galaxy a very young and vibrant team, I'm really grateful for the patience that I had and the support that I got from my family and friends," Tshepe said.
The midfielder, who has come under fire at times for his showboating maintains that despite changes to modern football, skilful players can still make a meaningful contribution to their respective teams.
"There's always a place for an individual like me, because let's say we play a team like Highlands Park who play a man marking game. That type of situation there comes a need where one has to come out with individual brilliance. There'll always be space and a team for a player who has skill in their game. I believe it also depends on the type of coach you have that will allow you to express yourself, not for yourself, but for the team," Tshepe added.
Tshepe could get his first taste of action this weekend, as Galaxy prepare to take on Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila in Thohoyandou on Sunday.
