Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lucky Mzizi has officially retired from playing football at professional level.
Mzizi has been without a club since the end of the 2017/18 season, having finished that campaign playing in the NFD (now GladAfrica Championship) for KwaZulu-Natal club Uthongathi FC since January 2018.
In his professional career, Mzizi started at Chiefs in 2004, after being promoted from the club's development as a taalented youngster.
The 35-year-old was on Chiefs senior team's books until 2007, having also been loaned out to AmaZulu at some point in between.
Bloemfontein Celtic, Thanda Royal Zulu, University of Pretoria and Free State Stars are some of the clubs that Mzizi played for in his career in Mzansi's top-flight.
Mzizi confirmed his retirement from the game in telling the Siya crew, "I have called it quits in football. I have run my race and have decided to focus on the other things in life. I have decided to leave the game. You must also remember that age is no longer on my side."
