Football Betting Tips - Here Are Tips Ahead Of Fixtures By Soccer 6.
Absa Premiership defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns are contributing to what is a thrilling Premiership title chase and are now just eight points behind Kaizer Chiefs, ahead of Wednesday, March 18's PSL encounter against the struggling Chippa United at Loftus Stadium. The Brazilians are on course for a treble with the Nedbank Cup, CAF Champions League and PSL still within their reach, with only a handful of matches left to the end of the 2014/15 campaign. The Chilli Boys on the other hand have not picked up a single victory since Ernst Middendorp took over at the helm. In fact, the Port Elizabeth-based side have become strong relegation candidates yet again, and another defeat could leave them in a very precarious positon with a few games to the season end.   The Soweto Derby will see Moroka Swallows hosting PSL log leaders, Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday, March 18, at the Dobsonville Stadium. The Dube Birds have struggled to collect maximum points in their past few matches and now find themselves without a coach, following Fani Madida's resignation this week. The Amakhosi have equally struggled to extend their lead at the top of the PSL standings and have lost their past two matches in all competitions, with their lead now only eight points to second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns. The 'Moving Train' will look to get back on its rails against the Birds who have lost their past five out of six matches. The last time these two sides met at FNB Stadium, Maswaiswai halted Amakhosi's impressive run of more than 10 unbeaten matches when they played it out to a 1-1 draw.   Orlando Pirates, who have targeted a top two finish by the end of the 2014/15 season, will welcome Mpumalanga Black Aces to Orlando Stadium on Wednesday, March 18. The Buccaneers will be out to avenge the defeat they suffered at the hands of AmaZayoni in the first round of the league when they went down 2-1. Eric Tinkler's side are yet to lose a match since the second round of the season started and will aim for all the three points to close the gap on Masandawana. Aces are looking to have found their rhythm again after recording a hard-fought 2-1 win over Moroka Swallows in their last league match. Despite Clive Barker being relieved off his duties by the club, Jacob Sakala seems to have found the Aces 'bomb' ticking again.   English Barclays Premiership champions, Manchester City face a daunting trip when they travel to the Camp Nou to tackle Barcelona in their Uefa Champions League round of 16 tie on Wednesday evening, March 18. The Etihad side went down 2-1 at home on February 24 in their first leg tie and, could follow other English teams in Liverpool and Arsenal who were knocked out of Europe if they fail to upset Luis Enrique's side. The Catalans put City to sword at the same stage last season, winning both legs in a 4-1 aggregate score.   If you are a betting person, here are tips ahead of the fixtures brought to you by Soccer 6 and SuperSport United striker, Jeremie Brockie.    For more info on this and other fixtures, go to the Soccer 6 website here or the Soccer 6 mobi-site here!      MAMELODI SUNDOWNS V CHIPPA UNITED   League position: Downs 2nd and Chippa 12th   Useful facts: Second placed Sundowns will no doubt want to step up their pursuit of Kaizer Chiefs at the top of the table. The visit of a struggling Chippa will mean that the Brazilians ought to be strong favourites in this clash. A draw will be a big result for the Chilli Boys after their recent struggles under Ernst Middendorp. The German just can't seem to buy a win at the moment and questions are already being asked about his future.    Jeremy Brockie: Downs win. They're in good form.     MOROKA SWALLOWS V KAIZER CHIEFS   League position: Swallows 15th and Chiefs 1st   Useful facts: Swallows are in such dire form that they, even now, appear doomed to finish in the relegation places. The Dube Birds are conceding goals at an alarming rate and are struggling to make many chances at the business end of the pitch. There also seems to be some major shortcoming in their squad. This means Chiefs should be favourites in this contest.    Jeremy Brockie: Chiefs win – they'll want to bounce back after losing to Raja Casablanca.   ORLANDO PIRATES V BLACK ACES   League position: Pirates 3rd and Aces 11th   Useful facts: Pirates are buzzing in recent times and seem a side that have restored their pride and self-belief under Eric Tinkler. Positive results on the pitch and some passionate displays are perhaps key to a recent fine run of results. This means Aces might be outgunned and will likely be under the cosh in this Absa Premiership clash.    Jeremy Brockie: Pirates win. They're still pushing for a top spot.    BARCELONA V MANCHESTER CITY   League position: Barcelona 1st and City 2nd   Useful facts: Barcelona are absolutely flying and are in beast mode, with the likes of Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar all on fire. The football displayed has been tearing teams to shreds as they struggle to compete with Barca's pace, individual skill and sublime combination play. A faltering City might get blown away in this UEFA Champions League second leg quarter-final.     Jeremy Brockie: Barcelona win. City are struggling of late.
