Orlando Pirates 0-1 Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs reclaimed top spot in the DStv Diski Challenge after defeating Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Chiefs came into the clash second spot after Stellenbosch moved top on Saturday after defeating Chippa United 9-1.
The Amakhosi were awarded a penalty in the 25th minute after Imaad Hendrics was brought down by Mmatlou Sepale, who also shown a straight red card.
Aden McCarthy, who scored a penalty in the reverse fixture, stepped up but saw his spot-kick saved by Pirates goalkeeper Bayanda Zulu.
However, after waves of attack Chiefs were handed a chance to redeem themselves in the 65th minute after being awarded second penalty, as McCarthy stepped up once again but made no mistake with the second attempt by slotting into the far corner.
The win takes Chiefs back to the top of the standings, one point ahead of Stellenbosch FC.
AmaZulu 2-1 Golden Arrows
AmaZulu claimed the bragging rights in the KwaZulu-Natal derby after defeating Golden Arrows 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Usuthu took the lead in the 33rd minute courtesy of a neat finish from captain Bayanda Thabede.
Arrows were back on level terms in the 69th minute as AmaZulu goalkeeper Lindani Nene failed to collect a cross, which allowed Sfundo Shezi to fire into an empty net.
However, Usuthu got the winning goal with seven minutes left on the clock as Minenhle Makhathini converted a penalty.
