Join us for the ultimate soccer showdown at the Legendary 5 Tournament – powered by BoyleSports. 

Enter your team now for a chance to WIN the mega cash prize and face off against a legendary five-a-side team featuring some of South Africa's most loved former players.

Only 16 TEAMS will be part of the epic challenge!

Entry fee is R500 per team of 8 (5 players and 3 substitutes)

The champions will win R10 000 cash – plus a chance to challenge a team of SA soccer legends, that include: Bernard Parker, Benedict Vilakazi, Lebohang Mokoena, Cyril Nzama, Steve Lekoelea, Letladi Madubanya, Rowen Fernández and Morgan Gould.

Team registration

Time: 09:00 - 09:30 (Please arrive on time) 

Kick-off: 10:00 

Group stage

Format: 4 groups (A, B, C, D) with 4 teams each

Game duration: 10 minutes 

Changeover time: 5 minutes

- 10:00 - 10:10: Team 1 vs Team 2 (Group A)

- 10:15 - 10:25: Team 3 vs Team 4 (Group A)

- 09:30 - 10:40: Team 5 vs Team 6 (Group B)

Top 2 teams from each group.

- 13:45 - 13:55: Winner Group B vs Runner-up Group A 

Court 2:

- 13:30 - 13:40: Winner Group C vs Runner-up Group D

- 13:45 - 13:55: Winner Group D vs Runner-up Group C 

15-minute break before semifinals!

SEMIFINALS

Format:

Winners of the quarterfinals progress. 

Game duration: 15 minutes 

Changeover time: 5 minutes 

Court 1:- 14:10 - 14:25: Winner QF 1 vs Winner QF 2 

Court 2:- 14:10 - 14:25: Winner QF 3 vs Winner QF 4 

15-minute break before the final match!

FINAL

Format:

Winners of the semifinals progress. 

Game duration: 15 minutes  

Court 1:

- 14:40 - 14:55: Winner SF 1 vs Winner SF 2 

30-minute break before the LEGENDS game!

LEGENDS GAME

Format:

Tournament Winners play against the Legends Team 

Game duration: 15 minutes  

Court 1:

- 15:30 - 15:45: Tournament Winners vs Legends Team  

Summary

- Group Stage: 10:00 - 12:55

- Quarterfinals: 13:30 - 13:55

- Semifinals: 14:10 - 14:25- Final: 14:40 - 14:55

- Legends Game: 15:30 - 15:45 

This schedule provides a guide with specific times for each match, ensuring a smooth progression from group stages to the final.

The organisers reserve the right to amend the tournament structure as they see fit.

Legendary 5 Rules and Regulations

Team rosters

- Number of players on a team: Maximum 8 players

- 5 players on the field at a time + 3 reserves on the bench

- Players can sub on and off as many times as necessary (rolling subs)

- Only those on the original team roster are eligible to play in the tournament

- Players cannot play for multiple teams in the tournament

- All teams are guaranteed to play 3 group games

- Following the group stage, the 2 top teams in each group will progress to the quarterfinals stage

 The game

- A size 5 regulation soccer ball will be used for all matches

- Game duration:

- Group stage and quarterfinals: 10-min games

- Semis and final: 15-min games

- A team consists of a minimum of 5 players and a maximum of 8

- A goalkeeper and 4 players may be on the field at once, with up to 3 substitutes who may sub for any other player throughout the game

- No offside rule

- No tackling from behind. This results in a free kick

- No playing the ball whilst on the ground

- No slide tackling, sliding offences will result in a card being issued depending on the severity of the offence

- No tackling allowed for 5 seconds when your opponent has entered the corner circle

- No two-on-one tackles. This will result in a free kick to the opposition

- No tackles allowed against the wall to ensure player safety

- No backing into opposition players permitted whilst in possession of the ball

- Only one-step penalties allowed

- Balls over the side netting result in a free kick for the opposition from the point of exit

- The goalkeeper may not pick up the ball directly from a back pass

- The goalkeeper may pick up the ball if the ball is struck against the rebound side wall

- The goalkeeper may score directly from a goal kick

Forfeits

- A forfeit will be awarded if an opposing team is not ready to play at the scheduled start time

- The clock starts at the scheduled start time and time will not be made up if a team shows up late

- A forfeit will go down as a 3-0 win for the team that is there and ready to play

- If both teams do not show – or are not ready to play – neither team will be awarded points

Misconduct

- Abuse towards the referee will not be tolerated and will result in a card being issued

- Card system

- Green Card – Player to be substituted immediately

- Yellow Card – Player to leave the field for 2 minutes

- Red Card – Player to leave the field for the rest of the game. Depending on the severity of the incident the player may be subject to further sanctions.

Tournament scoring

- WIN = 3 points

- TIE = 1 point

- LOSS/FORFEIT = 0 points

 Note:The Legendary 5 Tournament Director reserves the right to modify the rules at his/her discretion to facilitate the flow of the tournament.
