Leonardo Castro To Be Fit For Kaizer Chiefs Clash?

Mamelodi Sundowns' Leonardo Castro seems to be rehabilitating well after sustaining an injury, and the team could have him back in the squad in time for one of the most anticipated Absa Premiership encounters.

The 27-year-old sustained an ankle injury during Sundowns' encounter with Tshwane rivals, SuperSport United in the MTN8 competition early in October this year.

However, after the player underwent treatment and rehab, and was also allowed a few days off to spend with his family in South America while nursing his injury, Siya sources have revealed that the striker is close to returning to action for Masandawana.

"He could play in the next game, he is recovering 100 percent. I think that he will play at least 20 minutes against Kaizer Chiefs and I'm sure he will be ready to face Atletico Nacional from Colombia, his hometown, in Sundowns' FIFA Club World Cup," the source revealed.

The Brazilians will come up against Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs on 19 November when the Absa Premiership resumes after the FIFA international break.

Amid Pitso Mosimane's injury woes in the squad, the head coach will be content in knowing that the final third of his 'CBD' (Castro, Billiat, Dolly) attacking threat could be up for selection during the team's FIFA Club World Cup campaign in Japan next month.
