Orlando Pirates' Augustine Mulenga opened his goalscoring account when he netted the winner to give the Buccaneers victory over Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday night.
Pirates were leading 1-0 going into the break, but it wasn't long before Lorenzo Gordinho, who came through with his only goal for the Free State outfit so far, levelled matters just four minutes into the second half.
Mulenga, who came on as a substitute, became a hero for the Bucs faithful when he led the Buccaneers to a 2-1 victory with his strike.
The Soweto giants' win saw them remain in second place on the log, while Mamelodi Sundowns managed to maintain their lead with a win over Chippa United.
