Orlando Pirates are said to be moving closer to re-signing experienced striker Ndumiso Mabena, who left Royal AM at the start of the season.

On the "Experienced Striker Closing In On Pirates Return?" story, a few readers mocked the Buccaneers for going for a 35-year-old player:

"Old age home," says Saavedra.

"They like them old at Mayfair (Pirates' training HQ)," says Shikabala.

Another fan seems to be eager for Mabena's signature:

"What's the hold up vele?" asks Kmuzi...

28-year-old midfielder Lebogang Phiri, is one of the few South African ballers who's played the majority of their careers in Europe.

Unlike a number of ballers around Phiri's age group, such as Keagan Dolly, Kermit Erasmus, Andile Jali and Bongani Zungu, Phiri has stayed put outside SA.

Fans had plenty to say on the "Why Bafana International Has Bucked Home Comfort Trend By PSL Big Names" story:

"Bafana Bafana doesn't have a coach, players who are playing in Europe are being ignored for useless PSL players, Phiri never put a foot wrong while playing for the national team but is being sidelined, this coach is not here to build but to destroy players who are playing overseas," says hmondli670.

"The player in question is 28 yrs old. I am against local club signing players that old instead of looking for talent in our rural areas and recruit from their development," says Mr Soccer Enthusiast, who went on to say...

"What are these guys saying? I for one soccer is about money and life. By life one has to choose the best conditions. We all know that weather conditions somewhere are diabolical. Playing for a second tie club to me is madness when one can play for 1st division and earning enough money here at home."

With Khune's contract set to expire in June 2023, retired keeper Brian Baloyi feels that Amakhosi should offer the skipper a new contract.

The "Legend Explains Why Khune Deserves New Deal" story, a fan didn't react well to Baloyi saying that Khune shouldn't finish his career at so-called "smaller club":

"You out of order Baloyi, a legend like you can not use the word "small team". Who made you shine? Was it big teams like Man U? Grow up man," says ns1owam.

"The guy won't be playing under Zwane. The intention was to push Bruce but he also fumbled because they thought Williams won't be playing at Downs," says Shikabala.
