Let's take a closer look...

Mamelodi Sundowns overcame their plucky Tshwane neighbours in a 1-0 win at Loftus Versveld yesterday, and head coach Rulani Mokwena has praised his players for showing some fight in a tight contest.

On the "Rulani: We Pack A Punch When The Opposition Requires Us To" story, readers took to the comment section to share their thoughts on Sundowns' narrow win:

"Thanks Coach for delivering again, however your players still panic, especially when they lead 1-0 in the dying minutes, they get confused and allow an opponent to press, that has to be rectified before the African tour. Remember, the best way to defend is to keep possession, that Maseko boy was given too much space," says pgyakeni.

"Yes it was not easy coach, this SuperSport team gave us problems but I am happy that there are teams who give us a hard time so that by the time we start the Champions League, we are ready," says Cutter.

"SuperSport came to challenge Downs. They were prepared and determined. Pity they lost. Downs proved that they're determined to defend their title. Yellow train is at full speed," says Mogaseaub.

Former Masandawana left back Teboho Langerman hit back at Sekhukhune United coach Brandon Truter and other ex-footballers who say that Sundowns are dominating the DStv Premiership because of money.

Truter was recently quoted saying that Sundowns are dominating because of the quality of players they're able to afford.

The "Langerman Hits Out At Truter's Sundowns Utterance" story, enticed our readers to comment in large numbers.

Here's what they had to say:

"Thanks Langerman, it shows you are a modern-day legend. Not those legends of long ago, they don't know soccer. Even though, in modern soccer you can't really separate success and richness of a club. Look at the European clubs," says collins.zamba.

"I don't agree with you Langerman because everything that you said here needs resources and you [Sundowns] get those resources with money, so stop exposing yourself or maybe you want to be hired at your former club honestly you can't have best coaching stuff and players without money.

"Sundowns is winning because of money they get everything they want so other coaches are right, Sundowns is dominant because of money which they use to buy all those quality players," says juicecpeter.

"Tell them Langerman, they are clueless on what is being done at Chloorkop, they are only obsessed with money, that's all they see. There are a lot of coaching aspects that can be practiced without money and that's what Sundowns does," says His Majesty Yellow PSL Beast.

"You're right wena Langerman. I wish they can remove Downs for a second when they're about to make these comments and see how they fare with the rest of the PSL teams.

"Look at AmaZulu beating Chiefs 4-0? That had nothing to do with Downs, in fact Pirates and Chiefs have more resources compared to other PSL teams, but they dropped more points against those inferior teams than they did against Downs," says INBOX VAT ALLES.
