Although Hugo Broos eventually called up Pule Mmodi to replace Themba Zwane in his final Bafana squad to face Namibia and DR Congo, the lack of Chiefs stars in the Bafana set-up poses a big question on whether Amakhosi have quality players to break their trophy draught.
Since Chiefs last tasted league success in 2015, there's barely been a healthy representation of Chiefs players in Bafana squads.
This international break has also exposed the lack of internationals in general at Chiefs, with Thatayoane Ditlhokwe (Botswana), Edmilson Dove (Angola), and Mmodi being the only ones called-up for their national teams.
Here's how the readers reacted to the "Chiefs' Lack Of Internationals Exposed" story:
"It's this reason that Bafana isn't performing because coaches that relatively performed well didn't do that on the players' clubs performances, but on their skill. This alludes to Sundowns players, who will be the ones that form part of the Bafana squad. Do that and let's see whether you will win anything," says matemane.
"From 2015 to 2023, how many coaches have Chiefs had? Khompela, Mabedi, Solinas, Middendorp, Hunt, Baxter, Zwane, and Ntseki equals 8. Then we need winning trophies that is unfair to players, they are confused.
"First stabalise the coaching staff, have a philosophy and then judge the players' quality. With Hunt, I expected him to succeed, whatever happened, happened, and I believe he must be given a second chance in future. He must bring his own assistants," says eric.ncube.
"Pirates failed to win a league titles for the past 13 years with their internationals exposed, Sundowns failed to win the Champions League, so with that, tell us if their internationals have been exposed or is it only used against PSL teams," says Scara 11.
"Are you disputing the fact that during Baxter's time you had international players and match officials on your side? Now name five players playing for Chiefs and their national teams," replies thulamda.
"Its funny that all the media is talking about is Kaizer Chiefs wining trophies, why only Kaizer Chiefs? what about Moroka Swallows, Golden Arrows, and SuperSport etc. They never win any trophies.
"I'm not even talking about Bafana Bafana, when are they going to start playing well, as they are using quality players?" says elliot.khumalo0090.
"It's as if it's only Kaizer Chiefs that plays soccer in the country and other teams play tennis. If we're criticising teams, let's critique everyone equally, but that's not gonna happen. They know if you want to trend or get clicks for articles just write about Chiefs," replies sizweking.
"Very true and the truth will always expose them until they have no where to hide. Buy us good and qualify players and stop taking short cuts, Mthethwa is there to help this team but they act like they don't see that they need him... I'm still a KHOSI FAN and I will love an support no team but KAIZER CHIEFS," MjepaMjest.
"What a sad reality. Oiur beloved team always ignores good quality players. When they see a quality player who could add value, they seem to look the other way," replies user812873.

The Siya crew understands that Orlando Pirates may not have given up on bringing a defensive midfielder before the transfer window closes towards the end of the month.
Sources have indicated that the Buccaneers may be pursuing Stellenbosch FC midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa, who was once linked with Kaizer Chiefs, in a potential deal which is believed to include players plus cash.
Here's how the readers reacted to the "Pirates Leapfrog Chiefs In Chase For In-Demand Midfielder?" story:
"If it was sundowns who wanted to sign a player, people would be telling you of all the negative aspects, but when it is a Soweto team, all is well.
"I like what Bucs is doing, they keep beefing up their team, not this thing of playing a player until he get insulted by supporters like now as people cry for Itu Khune, they fail to notice how good Pietersen is doing because they believe in history over focusing on the future," says Cutter.
"Orlando Pirates must go for this guy, he is a workhorse," says msiphos.
"He looks old though..." says tbsafrica.
"He's 28-years-old, he can play for three more seasons at the highest level," says insprinters.
"If Chiefs could get this guy, I can 100% say that they can win something this season. This guy carries that Stellenbosch midfield alone for 90min with the same pace, his always at the right places. An injury free player, powerful and confident. A team leader.
"This guy can make things easy for the team honestly," says MjepaMjest.
"He must go to Chiefs so that the two Soweto teams can up their game and stop Sundowns' dominance.
"The last time a Soweto team won the league, it was during the season where both Soweto giants played good football," says Fair Comment.
"As a Khosi fan, it is so sad for me to see Pirates signing all these good players while we are signing average players. I was thinking that Chiefs will sign one between Jali or Mthethwa but dololo. Look, if we can get one of these players, especially Mthethwa, I'm telling you, you'll see a different Chiefs who can challenge for all the cups," says mlekeleli.
"The Question is does pirates needs him especially in that defensive midfield big no just sign for the sake of it pirates has many good defensive midfield some haven't played this season," says juicecpeter.
