The Siya crew understands that Orlando Pirates may not have given up on signing a strong defensive midfielder, and that the player of interest could be Stellenbosch FC's Sibongiseni Mthethwa.

With just over two weeks before the close of the current transfer window period, Siya sources have indicated that the Buccaneers may be pursuing Mthethwa in a potential deal which is believed to involve money and players.
The sources have added that talks between the two clubs could be concluded before the registration deadline which is September 22.
"The talks have been renewed because Pirates still want Sibongiseni (Mthethwa) but the thing is Stellenbosch are not making it easy because they value him a lot," said the Siya source.
"He has a big role to play at the Stellies team so they can't just let him go like that. But I believe they are willing to settle for something if it's a good offer," the source added.
A different source added that what Stellies may be looking at is if Pirates can add a player to the deal.
"From what I know, they want money plus at least a player or two because it will be difficult for them to go out and find a replacement at this time," said the other Siya source.
"So, they are negotiating around those terms. It will all depend on whether the players Pirates will offer will meet the needs of Stellenbosch at this point. But, yes, they are talking," the source told the Siya crew.
Soccer Laduma contacted both clubs for comments but received no response while preparing this story.
