SAFA's head of referees Abdul Basit Ebrahim confirmed that Patrick Maswanganyi's goal against Cape Town City will be on the agenda in front of their review committee.
The goal in question was scored by the Orlando Pirates midfielder deep in the second half, with television replays seemingly showing that the whole ball didn't cross the line as City's Darren Keet quickly reacted in attempts to stop it from doing so.
CT City coach Eric Tinkler was left disappointed after his side's 2-0 loss at the Orlando Stadium as he believed Maswanganyi's goal should not have stood.
Here's how the readers reacted to the "SAFA Breaks Silence On Pirates' Controversial Goal" story:
"Sundowns has been benefiting from these dubious offs and stuff, so Pirates must also benefit sometimes. It was an honest mistake from the officials. That is all. We move on from it.
"VAR is delaying the games in my opinion. Not sure if it adds a lot quality to have it. We still see crazy ball to hand penalties granted as real penalties. Something needs to be done on the interpretation of football rules. It cannot be that every hand ball is penalty kick! That is wrong!!" says khothakhosi.
"They must also review the incident where the Ref fouled Tito and yet they allowed play to continue, what would have happened had Cape Town City went on to score from that incident?" says alfredali844.
"I wonder what could be the 'outcome' of all the talk. Pirates won fair and square as City never scored a goal. At any rate, besides all the noise, the goal was a clear goal, nothing controversial about it.
"I'm just disappointed with SuperSport for not having cameras in all the angles," says msanisto.
"They can review and disallow the goal if they want to, but we will still have the 3 points!" says mmolokimokoena86.
"That was a goal. Up the Bucs," says morewasn.
"Sundowns benefited many times, they even think they will win whenever they play Chief but the last game they benefit 2s penalty and offside goal," says Mvala.
"It's only Chiefs that hasn't benefited this season," says thamivutisanikhosa.
"With or without that goal, we still win the game," Isenkge.
"Pirates is not at fault at all. The score line was 2-0. That's all that matters," says Skyvodka.
"Can they also review the red card issued to Maboe, because there was nothing serous in that challenge," says pgyakeni.
"With or without that goal, we were still going to win the game because Bucs are hot, very hot," says @ThizaK.
"We don't have referees in South Africa, no wonder they hardly been in big tournaments. When in charge of the game, they make sure their favorite team wins. They are like the EPL refs," says oupa.phiri27.
