The Nedbank Cup semi-finals draw took place on Sunday afternoon after the mouthwatering clash between Cape Town City and Mamelodi Sundowns at Cape Town Stadium.
Kaizer Chiefs, who edged out Baroka FC 1-0 on the weekend, will go up against Free State Stars, while Sundowns, who cruised past the Citizens, will face Maritzburg United. The semi-finals are set to take place on the weekend of 20-22 April.
Supporters Club members have shared their mixed reactions regarding what was deemed a very interesting semi-final draw.
"Without fear or favour, Downs and Amakhosi will play the final. Free State Stars tend to lose when playing against Chiefs. On the other hand, Masandawana can unlock Maritzburg United's defence, even at 12 o'clock midnight." – scoreman99
"The repeat of the 2015 Telkom Knockout final is coming our way." – Matayitayi
"I doubt Chiefs will lose the final against Maritzburg United. We've already won this cup, playing semis and final are just formalities" – Xolisa{khosificated}
"Easy one for Free State Stars, they are through to the final already." – Bucsfever16
"Very good games, Chiefs don't beat FSS easily, so is Sundowns against in-form Maritzburg United." – thasbu@143
"All these teams deserve to be in the semi-finals. But I would say my team (Chiefs) surely don't stand a chance if we continue with our negative football." – fofos
