Today is a day of rejoicing for Mamelodi Sundowns. And, for the day, other supporters can take off their hats in admiration for the stellar season performed by the mighty Brazilians. Supporters Club gathered some prominent fans of other teams to get their message of congratulations, and we round it off with a Sundowns song.
"They did it fashionably well. They managed to win convincingly home and away, they did exceptionally well, and it was no fluke. All congratulations to the players, Pitso and the technical team, and especially the supporters who filled their stands and stood by their team through thick and thin. There is no soccer without the fans, so all congratulations to them." – Dejan Miladinovic, Orlando Pirates superfan
"Obviously, I am not happy that we lost our championship title. But congratulations are in order for Mamelodi Sundowns, who played well consistently throughout the season. They showed more hunger than any other team in the league. As they know, one season for them, one season for us. Next season, we're coming with guns blazing to claim what is rightfully ours. But well done to the entire Sundowns family." – Mama Fefe, Gauteng provincial secretary of Kaizer Chiefs' Supporters Club
Finally, Mama Tsontso, who has been consistently in communication with Supporters Club this season over all matters yellow, provides the finishing touch with a supporters' song:
Kajeno go jewa batho…
Kajeno re tsere League…
Ka lebaka la Kaizer Chiefs…
This roughly translates to: "Today we are beating Tuks, and taking back our cup because Kaizer Chiefs stole it from us last season."
