Following their win over Platinum Stars, Kaizer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela might have given a slight indication that he will exiting Naturena.
In his post-match interview with SuperSport, Komphela gave a word of gratitude to all those who have put him under pressure during his stay with Amakhosi. He further went on to say that he is not the same coach as he was when he joined the Glamour Boys in 2015.
"I have grown immensely. I am not the same coach that came to Chiefs; as I go out, I must thank everybody," the Kroonstad-born tactician said.
Supporters Club members have reacted to Komphela's statement, with some believing that the current situation at Phefeni is not solely a Komphela issue.
"Chiefs don't have players who can play for a big team. Even if they sack Komphela, it will be the same story for a new coach." – 0737521818
"What a painful speech from Steve Komphela, he sounds like he is resigning. I wish you all the best, Mr Komphela. I once believed in you, luck is just not on your side, but I respect you for surviving in such pressure. You are such an incredible leader. All the best, Sir, to your new coming environment #Amakhosi." – Mazwi
"You are a good coach Sir, it's just that luck isn't on your side nje." – Skantsontso
"I am not sure if letting Komphela go will solve all the problems. Chiefs are really struggling, even when Baxter was about to leave the team, it wasn't doing so well. I solely hope that changing the coach will benefit the team." – MALOSE
"In as much as we blame the coach for not delivering, we also need to look at the commitment from the players as well. I am happy because the chairman said that they are going to look at the reason why Chiefs did not live up to the expectations. Get rid of those who were passengers." – EagleEye
