Investec DreamPlay – Entries open for Cape Town football clubs to join
Applications for inclusion into the Investec DreamPlay programme have opened. The Investec DreamPlay programme is earmarked for select underprivileged football clubs within the Cape metropolis, from Cape Town to Simonstown and as far as Stellenbosch.
The objective of the Investec DreamPlay programme is to provide a direct platform and expertise for players to go from the streets of township football to clubs in Europe.

The Investec DreamPlay programme has four facets:
• Satellite programme (Investec DreamPlay programme)
• Investec DreamPlay tournament
• FC Cape Town Investec Elite Academy
• FC Cape Town Investec Elite Academy European Tour
The Investec DreamPlay programme is an inclusive programme that will provide a platform to link up with the U17 teams of 15 community clubs. The first phase of the Investec DreamPlay programme is selecting 15 x U17 community satellite teams which will be technically affiliated to FC Cape Town. They will benefit from a monthly roll-out plan to coach the coaches. Each club selected to be part of the Investec DreamPlay programme will receive sponsored playing kit in each club's respective colours, tracksuits and training equipment specifically for the U17 team of each satellite club. Club coaches of the 15 clubs in the Investec DreamPlay programme will be afforded the opportunity to attend coaching seminars run by licensed credited coaches.
The second phase of the Investec DreamPlay programme is an annual U17 DreamPlay tournament. Each club in the programme will be guaranteed a place in the annual Investec DreamPlay tournament. The top three clubs will receive prize money and the 20 best players of the tournament will form the Investec DreamPlay squad that will be included in ongoing trials to be part of the FC Cape Town LFA team of the Investec Elite Academy. All the FC Cape Town scouts will be influential in selecting the Investec DreamPlay top 20 squad. The top players from this squad will form the new recruits for the FC Cape Town Investec Elite Academy.
The next phase of the Investec FC Cape Town development plan is the Investec Elite Academy. This will consist of two Investec Elite Academy teams between 16 and 21 years of age.
The final phase is the Investec European tour. This journey includes an annual European tour for 18 players selected from FC Cape Town's NFD, LFA and Motsepe teams. 10 select players included in this squad will also be afforded individual trials at European clubs.
