Comments + Social Media reaction

Kaizer Chiefs claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Golden Arrows at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday night, their first win in 2024.

The victory ended Amakhosi's four-match winless run across all competitions, with Cavin Johnson's side remaining sixth on the league standings, now level on points with fifth-placed Pirates, who they face in the Soweto derby this weekend.

Duba's wonder strike early in the game was Amakhosi's first goal of the season, with the youngster repaying Johnson's faith in him after he started ahead of Ashley Du Preez.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Young Striker Gets Chiefs' First Win Ahead of Soweto Derby" story:

"There is no co-ordination or fluidity in the team. Fitness is an issue here had Arrows on their best they would have won the game," says eric ncube.

"Their fitness level is below average," replies peter11664315.

"The players and supporters reserved themselves for their Sowetan Cup Final on Saturday," says Manephilly.

"From 20million to 52 fans," replies Mshefan wa Mo Downs.

"Arrows was robbed there was no offside, watch the goal then comments, ref was on Chiefs' side," says Dominate-downs.

"What a goal from the young man. It was individual brilliance, but today's performance was a disaster. Players we running 200km per hour going nowhere. That Gonzalez is not a soccer player madoda, but an actor and Bobby is convinced that he got a better player than Kokota piano," added Dominate-downs.

"Not even an actor, a basketball player. I think when he signed, he thought Chiefs was a basketball club," says khumbulani.toyota.

"Whoever brought Gonzalez to our team, really made a mistake, a big one. Our players lack something that other teams have, I don't know what it is but really, this team is not ticking like other teams. We won but we don't know how. So, one must stop this thing that kills these players' morale," says MabicsFC.

"The back line fielded today is not the one that should be trusted for the weekend. Playing Kwinika, Hlanti and Ngcobo is recipe for disaster. Coach must at least select Fleurs," added MabicsFC.

"The love I have for this team is wow! I was thinking of not watching this team anymore this season but I found myself glued to my TV watching my beloved Chiefs. Khosi for life ngempela," says T.sibiya.

"If you are impressed by the sprinting football you saw today from your team then I think watching grass grow is your favourite activity," replies Dominate-downs.
