Stellies Confirm Departure Of Bafana Star

Stellenbosch FC have confirmed the transfer of a Bafana Bafana midfielder to Austrian side SV Ried on a permanent move.

Antonio Van Wyk will be playing his football in Austria this season, his former club have confirmed.

Taking to their official social media pages, Stellies have announced that the 22-year-old has been sold to the Austrian Second Division outfit for an undisclosed fee.

"We are proud to announce that the club has reached an agreement with Austrian side SV Ried for the permanent transfer of Antonio Van Wyk for an undisclosed fee," a statement from the club read.

Van Wyk is a product of the Stellenbosch youth development side and was promoted to the first team in 2021 under coach Steve Barker.

He made 78 appearances in total, scoring six goals and registering 11 assists in Stellies colours.
