Kaizer Chiefs and Sekhukhune United resume DStv Premiership matters at the Peter Mokaba Stadium this afternoon.

DStv Premiership

Teams: Sekhukhune United v Kaizer Chiefs

Date: 23 April 2023

Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium

Time: 15h00

Chiefs progressed to the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup after defeating Royal AM 2-1 in extra-time last weekend in KwaZulu-Natal.

However, Amakhosi affected their chances of finishing second after their four-game winning run was halted by a 1-1 draw against Marumo Gallants a week prior.

As a result, Chiefs have since fallen five points behind second-placed Orlando Pirates and three points behind third-placed SuperSport United in fourth spot on the log.

The Glamour Boys will be without Sifiso Hlanti and Siyethemba Sithebe, who are both suspended for the encounter.

As for Sekhukhune, they also booked their spot in the semi-finals of the Nedbank for the first time in their history beating Chippa United 2-1 last weekend.

Babina revived their chances of finishing in the top eight as they ended their four-game winless run after edging Maritzburg United 1-0 the last time out in the league.

Chiefs will also be looking to settle the score with Sekhukhune who beat them 1-0 on in the reverse on the club's birthday in January at FNB Stadium after a lone strike by Vusimuzi Mncube.

Arthur Zwane has handed a recall to Cole Alexander in midfielder, while Dillan Solomons joins the team at right-back.
