Starting XI: Chippa v Chiefs, Njabulo Ngcobo Returns!

Starting XI: Chippa v Chiefs, Njabulo Ngcobo Returns!

Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to bounce back in the DStv Premiership when they visit Chippa United on Thursday afternoon.

DStv Premiership

Teams: Chippa United v Kaizer Chiefs

Date: 27 April 2023

Venue: Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium

Time: 15h00

Chiefs dented their chances of finishing second after dropping points in two consecutive games following their 1-1 draw against Marumo Gallants and a damaging 1-0 loss to Sekhukhune United over the weekend.

Amakhosi remained fourth on the table but have fallen six points behind second-placed SuperSport United (who have played an extra game) and five points behind third-placed Orlando Pirates, with four matches to go.

Chippa, on the other hand, are fighting for their lives in the Premiership and their situation did not improve after they extended their winless run to seven matches with a 3-1 defeat against Marumo Gallants two weeks ago.

The Chilli Boys are precariously lying second-from-bottom on the table, two points behind 14th-placed Swallows and Gallants who are in 13th spot.

Chiefs will also be motivated to turn the tables after a 2-1 defeat to Chippa in the first round at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Siyabonga Ngezana broke the deadlock for Arthur Zwane's charges on the stroke of halftime but Sphelele Luthuli levelled matters early in the second stanza and an own goal by Edmilson Dove in the last minute handed the Chilli Boys all the three points.

Here's how they line up:
