Mamelodi Sundowns will be seeking to keep their hopes of setting a new DStv Premiership record of points alive when they visit AmaZulu on Wednesday evening.

DStv Premiership

Teams: AmaZulu v Mamelodi Sundowns

Date: 03 May 2023

Venue: Princess Magogo Stadium

Time: 19h30

Sundowns booked their spot in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League for the first time since 2019 after their 2-1 win over Belouizdad this past weekend in the quarter-final second-leg aggregated their thumping win to 6-2.

The Brazilians also ended their three-match winless run in the league a few days prior after edging Richards Bay 1-0.

Rulani Mokwena's charges are still on course to break their own record of 71 points they posted in the 2015/16 season under former coach Pitso Mosimane.

Sundowns can reach a maximum of 74 points if they win all their remaining three games.

AmaZulu, on the other hand, eased their relegation concerns after ending a four-game winless run with a 2-0 win over Sekhukhune United last weekend.

Usuthu went up to 11th on the table, just two points adrift of a top eight position and six points clear of the relegation zone.

AmaZulu will be without Sphesihle Maduna due to suspension after he was red-carded in the win over Sekhukhune.

The Tshwane side were made to sweat for their win over Usuthu in the reverse after a stoppage goal by Marcelo Allende gave them a 1-0 victory in September last year.

Here's how they line up:
