Jose Riveiro's charges did also get back to winning ways in the league last Wednesday after securing a 1-0 victory away to Chippa United.
Pirates enter this evening's clash 16 points behind league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who are also in action this evening.
Stellenbosch, meanwhile, crashed out of the Nedbank Cup on Saturday night after losing 3-1 to Kaizer Chiefs at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
The defeat in the cup came days after defeating Marumo Gallants in the Premiership away from home.
Steve Barker's charges did claim the spoils when these two sides met in the reverse fixture at Orlando Stadium in December, while Pirates did beat Stellenbosch in the MTN8 final back in October.
