Orlando Pirates star Thembinkosi Lorch remains among the long-term goals for the Soweto giants as they aim to achieve more success this season and beyond, the Siya crew has been reliably informed.
Lorch is expected to pick up from where he left off before being suspended by the club with his performances which earned him a few Man of the Match awards since recovering from injury.
Pirates confirmed on Wednesday that the 30-year-old is back from suspension, having missed three matches back-to-back, as he attended to disciplinary matters that had to do with his suspended three-year imprisonment sentence.
Insiders have revealed that the attack-minded player remains in the plans for Bucs coach Jose Riveiro as the Spanish mentor is targeting league success as part of his to-do list to add to his two MTN8 and Nedbank Cup winners' medals which he has won since arriving in Mzansi last year.
"Lorch is a Pirates player and an important member of the squad, and nothing has changed. He is always committed on the field and is easy to work with and that's why he gets selected to play whenever he is available and ready," said the source.
"You also saw how well he performed in the matches he played on his return from injury and that's just how committed he is. His hard work on the field is recognised and the supporters love him. He's got a long-term future with the club," the source said.
As previously reported by the Siya crew, 'Nyoso' is understood to be on a long contract with the Buccaneers.
In their next match, Pirates take on Golden Arrows in the PSL at Mpumalanga Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
