Useful facts: Highlands Park will come into this game with a high level of confidence, after winning their first game of the season against Baroka and with Charlton Mashumba and Collins Mbesuma both scoring on debut. They will hope to compound the woes of a Kaizer Chiefs team that hasn't won in six games, since the 27th of April. There is no recent historical precedent for this game, but Allan Freese will be hoping to set a favourable one for his team and – if recent form is anything to go by – Highlands could create history for themselves.

However, Barcelona won't have fond memories of their last home game against Alaves, where they fell to a 2–1 defeat. They have, however, won eight of their last nine league games, including last weekend's 5–1 win over Leganes, yet it may be difficult to break down Diego Simeone's back four, who have kept clean sheets in eight of their last 10 league matches.
