The English Premier League begins on a high note as last season's fourht-placed side, Manchester City, host relegation survivors Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. Pep Guardiola will be seeking to start his EPL career with a positive result at home, however the Black Cats will be hoping for a much better campaign this time around under David Moyes.
Manchester United will travel to the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon as Jose Mourinho's soldiers will battle Bournemouth. United were beaten on their last visit there, but with a string of new signing, the Red Devils will be looking to make an instant impact.
Signal Iduna Park will be rumbling come Sunday as the German Super Cup takes place. Last season's league champions, Bayern Munich, will face off against rivals Borussia Dortmund in what promises to be an interesting battle - considering the tight battles between the two teams in recent years.

Man City v Sunderland (English Premier League)
2015/16 League rankings: Man City 4th Sunderland 17th
Useful facts: The Citizens will start life under Pep Guardiola with a match against relegation survivors Sunderland, who are now being coached by former Manchester United boss David Moyes. If history is anything to go by, City could cruise to victory as they have won five of their last six against the Black Cats. With that said, Sunderland are undefeated in their last six Premier League matches, so anything is possible here.
Wayde Jooste: Man City.
Bournemouth v Man Utd (English Premier League)
2015/16 League rankings: Bournemouth 16th Man Utd 5th
Useful facts: Tokelo Rantie's Bournemouth shared the spoils with Manchester United last season, with each side winning one of their two league encounters. José Mourinho's team are looking sharp, something they demonstrated in the Community Shield match against Leicester last weekend, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be looking to get off the mark in a game against a team that has failed to win their last five games in the league.
Wayde Jooste: I'm a United fan, so I'll go with them.
Borussia Dortmund v Bayern Munich (German Super Cup)
2015/16 League rankings: Borussia Dortmund 2nd Bayern Munich 1st
Useful facts: Two German giants square off in this curtain raiser to the new season, as Carlo Ancelotti looks to begin his Bayern Munich tenure with some silverware. The Bavarians have won four of their last six against their rivals, but Dortmund have won two of their last six home matches. You can expect the crowd to be especially harsh towards former centre back Mats Hummels, and there's little doubt that this will be a fiery affair and very hard to call.
Wayde Jooste: I'll go with Bayern.
