NFL superstar Lamar Jackson was selected as the cover star for EA SPORTS Madden 21, and the player has now spoken about what it means to him.
The Baltimore Ravens player recently conducted an interview with the NFL where he touched on a variety of topics, including his MVP season.
When it comes to the cover of the annual American football game, EA had to get creative due to the inability to hold a shoot with the stars during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The publishers worked with the team photographers and go creative with a stylish new look that boasts multiple photos of the player on the cover.
Speaking about the opportunity he was given, and his reaction to the cover, Jackson said, "That's been a dream of mine all my life. I've seen all the greats on it - Tom Brady, Ray Lewis, Donovan McNab, Gronk - so I was like, I want to be on it too.
"They revealed (the cover) to me early. I don't cry about stuff. I didn't cry when I won the Heisman. I didn't cry when I won all the other accolades. But when I saw the cover, I actually shed tears."
Madden NFL 21 will be available to players on 28 August 2020, and is available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
