Thomas "Hashtag Tom" Leese was crowned the 2019/20 ePremier League champion over the weekend after beating Marc "MarcMarleyyy" Marley 2-1 in the Grand Final.
The PlayStation 4 champion, who represents Watford, struck through Roberto Firmino in his "home console" match before taking a 2-0 aggregate lead through Paul Pogba in their Xbox One Match.
Hashtag Tom then went on to miss a penalty before Marley pulled a goal back to ensure a tight finish to the game.
Tom, who is ranked as the third best FIFA player in the world on PS4, walked away with the title as well as £20,000 (R440 000), while Marley earned a tidy £10,000 (R220 000).
Liverpool's representative, Donovan "Tekkz" Hunt, was knocked out by Marley in the Xbox final (3-5 on aggregate), while Chelsea's Kyle "Hammond" Hammond was smashed 5-1 in the PS4 final.
Tekkz was the defending champion in the tournament, and couldn't follow up his recent victory in the eChampions League with another title.
On his official Twitter account, Leese said, "Waking up a champion is a top 2 feeling and it's definitely not 2nd. Yesterday was a long time coming and it feels unreal to finally win a trophy!!"
