Sports Interactive recently revealed that Football Manager 2021 is set to launch on 24 November, but there was major controversy with no release date for the PS5.
The game has not been present on Xbox for over a decade, with the last title being in 2007, however, the popular football manager simulator will return on the Xbox Series X.
FM21 will be available on the Xbox store and PC in November, while the Nintendo Switch version will come out in December.
The game will also be accessible on iOS and Android but there has been confusions as to whether Sony fans will get the chance to play the game on their favourite console.
Sports Interactive boss Miles Jacobson answered that question on Twitter, saying, "Being asked this a lot will get into trouble for answering...
"Our friends at Xbox have spent years asking for us to come back to their consoles. It's how both FM19 FM20 ended up on gamepass towards the end of the cycle, and now FM21 on Xbox One Series X/S.
"Sony didn't."
He continued with more tweets on the subject, adding, "So, essentially, Microsoft approached us to have our games on their platform, whereas Sony didn't. The platforms are gated curated.
"To make games for a platform, you need a dev kit. To get a dev kit, the platform holder have to want the game on the platform. We spoke with Sony, we have no dev kits. We spoke with Microsoft, they sent them to us."
Jacobsen also pointed out that it is unlikely that the game will feature on the PS5, as even if they were to get a dev kit, it would take a considerable amount of time for the game to be tailored for the platform.
