The Siya crew has been led to believe that the future of Zitha Kwinika is currently hanging in the balance at Kaizer Chiefs, with a possibility of an exit.
Kwinika just completed his second season with Amakhosi and has one more year to run on the contract he signed. Indications are that the Soweto giants are considering parting ways with the player, as he has not quite lived up to expectations after signing from Stellenbosch FC.
It's believed Chiefs are already in the market for new players, especially with a new coach coming in, and Kwinika may not fit into the plans.
The 30-year-old former Bidvest Wits and Chippa United defender, who can play at right back or in central defence, made 18 appearances in all competitions during the past season. Over half of his appearances were made in the second half of the campaign.
Chiefs are expected to have a big clear out of players now that the season is over. Kwinika, it's understood, is one of the players they are willing to let go, with management not being fully convinced of his contribution over the last two seasons.
Another Chiefs defender who has an uncertain future is Njabulo Ngcobo, whose contract expires at the end of June. Chiefs are expected to make announcements on the futures of players this month.
