Time is running out before the PSL transfer window closes and Gaston Sirino is well aware of the fact that staying at Mamelodi Sundowns may do more harm than good for his career going forward.
Earlier this week, when the club hosted a media open day for their DStv Premiership clash against Orlando Pirates, the Uruguayan was training on his own at Chloorkop, which is a sign that he may no longer be in the plans of the first team. The skillful attacker is understood to have attracted interest from Orlando Pirates, while coach Pitso Mosimane is known to be an admirer of the 32-year-old, having signed him back in 2018 from Bolivian club Bolivar.
However, 'Jingles' recently told journalists he had not made an offer for Sirino, whom he revealed did not have a price on his head according to his understanding.
It's no secret that the 32-year-old is craving game-time and the chances of him featuring regularly in the Brazilians starting line-up appear rather slim, and now the Siya crew understands that he and his camp are looking at the possibility of negotiating an exit with the Chloorkop-based side, to leave as a free agent.
It's not clear, at this stage, if Sundowns are willing to let the player go on a free, but he is determined to play football again this season and an effort will be made to depart before the transfer window closes. An announcement on the future of Sirino at the Tshwane giants is expected to be made by the close of the transfer window.
