With the PSL campaign only starting recently, Chippa United are already looking at keeping Orlando Pirates midfielder Siphelo Baloni, beyond his loan deal in June 2025.
Sources close to both clubs have indicated that the Eastern Cape side is happy with the former All Stars midfielder and want him permanently.

"With the club now, they are already looking at how to have a strong, well-balanced squad next season and that's why they are looking at keeping Siphelo (Baloni) beyond his loan deal next year," said the Siya source.
"The coaches are happy with him. You know he has only missed one league game and that was against Orlando Pirates because there is an agreement that he can't play against them. That just shows you how important he is to the team and that's why they want to keep him longer," the source added.
A second insider stated that Chippa could even be looking at buying him permanently, but that will depend on Pirates' intentions.

"The club would be happy if they can buy him outright but you know Pirates would have loaned him out because they want him to gain experience and that's why Chippa are also looking for a second term loan after the June 2025 expiry date. They are really happy with him and they will do all they can to keep him," the second source stated.
The 25-year-old had joined Pirates from the now-defunct All Stars, and last season he missed a significant amount of matches. Now, at Chippa he's already gaining much more game time at the rate he has started.
This publication contacted Chippa United for comment, but there was no response at the time of preparing this story. With both clubs needing to agree on terms, even if Bucs want to sell in future, fans will be eager to see if Baloni will continue to be a key player for Chippa in the coming seasons.
