The door hasn't been closed for Siyanda Xulu to possibly go back overseas in future, the player's representative has confirmed. The centre-back recently returned to South Africa, signing for SuperSport United following a successful spell with Turan Tovuz in Azerbaijan, where he was one of the club's top performers.
With Matsatsantsa, the vastly experienced player signed a two-year deal, with an option to extend for another year, and is expected to play a big role this season under coach Gavin Hunt.
AmaZulu FC are one of the clubs that had been keen on the former Maritzburg United man, though the 31-year-old opted for the Tshwane giants in the end. Having previously played in Russia and Israel, among other countries abroad, Xulu would still be open on an overseas move in future, according to his agent Lebohang Mashishi.
"In football, anything can happen. You will never know what tomorrow holds. But for now, we are grateful to SuperSport United for entrusting Siyanda and for welcoming him so well," said Mashishi, speaking to the Siya crew.
"So, all that the player has to do is to repay the faith of the coach and the club with week-in, week-out top performances. It's a new start back home, but he has nothing to prove but to give his best to SuperSport United," concluded the intermediary.
