Sundowns To Make A Call On Eight Players

Sundowns To Make A Call On Eight Players

With the Premier Soccer League season heading closer to an end, the Siya crew has been informed that Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns are not likely to include all the players they have loaned out in their squad for next season.

The Tshwane giants have quite a number of players who are out on loan and many of them will be concerned about what happens next season with their careers.

Ricardo Goss and Etiosa Ighodaro are currently on loan to SuperSport United. Goss, who is in the second year of his two-year loan deal, looks set to return to Chloorkop, with the club making plan to have him back with the possibility of Denis Onyango bringing an end to his career soon. Goss, however, is understood to be open to staying at SuperSport, due to the fact that he is the number one goalkeeper there, whereas he would probably play second fiddle to Ronwen Williams if he returns to Chloorkop.

Indications are that Nigerian striker Ighodaro could seek a permanent departure from Sundowns if he is not recalled to play for the champions next season. Ighodaro has previously been out on loan to Chippa United and University of Pretoria. He revealed to the Siya crew recently that he wants to have a permanent home and not another loan spell next season.

Thabiso Kutumela is spending the season at Cape Town City and the club will wait until the off-season to make a decision on his future. With Sundowns set to add to their squad next season, the Siya crew has been informed that there might not be space for Kutumela in the team, with the Citizens open to keeping him beyond the expiration of his loan deal.

Sundowns have Siyanda Msani and Luvuyo Phewa on loan to Cape Town Spurs and it's believed both players are not likely to feature in the plans of the technical team next season.

Head coach Rulani Mokwena recently told media that there is still interest to have Promise Mkhuma back at Sundowns, but chances are he might have to wait another season before being able to properly compete for a place in the squad. University of Pretoria currently have him on loan and that deal could be extended, especially if they win promotion to the Premiership.

Thabang Sibanyoni is also on loan to AmaTuks and while he is doing well for the club, it's believed Sundowns are not likely to have him back in the first team squad.

Sifiso Ngobeni is currently spending time at AmaZulu and his future at Sundowns is uncertain, with loads of competition at left back.
