The Siya crew has been led to believe that Chippa United are making a serious effort to secure a Mamelodi Sundowns striker.
The club survived relegation last season and a man who was key to that was Nigerian forward Etiosa Ighodaro, who was on loan from Masandawana.

With Sundowns adding Junior Mendieta and Brazilian striker Everton Moraes to the squad for the coming season, indications are that Ighodaro is not likely to feature in the squad at Chloorkop, with a move away from the side set to happen again.
Chippa are interested in having him on board for another campaign, especially after what he did for them last season, as he inspired the club to safety.
The 22-year-old netted 10 goals in the DStv Premiership, nine of which proved to be point saving or securing goals for the Chilli Boys, which shows just how important he was for the team throughout the campaign as they finished just above the playoffs.
As they look to make improvements in the coming season, Chippa want to have the Nigerian striker on board to ensure they have someone they can constantly rely on to find the back of the net.
Chippa, though, might find that it's not as easy to hold onto the striker. Indications are that the striker has attracted interest overseas and Sundowns could look at cashing in on the player if the right deal comes along. It's believed that the striker who turned 22 yesterday would be open to a move overseas, which would increase his chances of breaking into the Nigerian national team, which is a dream of his.

A decision and an announcement on Ighodaro are set to be made in the coming weeks, but Chippa will certainly be one of the clubs looking to secure his signature, for at least another season.
