Downs’ Makgalwa Decision Imminent

With Mamelodi Sundowns yet to decide on the future of Keletso Makgalwa, there could be light at the end of the tunnel for the star, the Siya crew has been made to believe. Like all the players who had been on loan for the 2022/23 season, Makgalwa returned to the club at the end of the campaign to hear from the club about his future.

The attacker, who is the Brazilians' development product, previously had loan spells with Maritzburg United, Moroka Swallows and TS Galaxy respectively since he was promoted to the first team at the Chloorkop-based outfit in 2017.

With the latest developments at Sundowns following the departures of some players while others are on the injury list, indications are that the pint-sized attacker could be given a chance to impress head coach Rhulani Mokwena as the club will want to add depth to the squad for the busy schedule ahead.

"The door hasn't been completely closed for Keletso Makgalwa at Sundowns and he is one of the players that will be considered for the first team if the situation is calling for it. Sundowns have lost some players up front after the likes of Cassius Mailula and (Thabiso) Kutumela left and there are also injuries affecting the team," revealed a source.

"Peter Shalulile is injured and there have been concerns over some of the attacking players as well due to injuries. The club hasn't ruled out the possibility of adding one or two other signings as replacements in attack, but a guy like Makgalwa will also be considered if the search doesn't yield positive results on time," the source added.
