The former SuperSport United defender's contract expired at the end of June and Sundowns had the option to exercise an extension. Steve Kapeulushnik has explained what the situation is around the Bafana Bafana player's future at Chloorkop.
"The club has exercised the option to extend for a season and we are busy talking about a new contract, but nothing has been agreed," Kapelushnik said to the Siya crew.
"I can't go into the specifics of his contract. The three years finished and they took an option for this next season and we are speaking to them about a new contract. That's where we are."

Kekana was one of the star performers for Sundowns, bagging himself the DStv Premiership defender of the season award as the Tshwane giants bagged a seventh consecutive Premiership title.
Having him as part of the squad for the coming season is important, but the club will also be looking at having him for a longer period.
