Evidence Makgopa will have his Orlando Pirates future reassessed in January after he could not seal a move away from the club before the end of the recent transfer window in September.
The Siya crew had been informed that the striker was on the wanted list of Chippa United, who were able to sign his teammate Goodman Mosele on loan until the end of the season and pushed to add him on their books too.
Makgopa has only made four appearances from the bench for the Soweto giants since the start of the campaign in what is a continuation of his lack of game-time at the club under Jose Riveiro.
It's believed there was a plea to allow him to be sent out on a loan spell to a fellow DStv Premiership rival as the forward is also eager to fight his way back into the Bafana Bafana team.
The 23-year-old, a member of the national U23 squad at the Olympic Games in Tokyo two years ago under coach David Notoane, was also part of the first group of players called up by Hugo Broos.
However, due to being on the sidelines, the national team mentor has since moved on and looked to other marksmen to step in as Bafana build up to the Africa Cup of Nations in January next year.
The transfer window will reopen in three months' time again and with Makgopa yet to start a game for the Buccaneers so far this season, it is likely Chippa – or any other potential suitor for that matter – will come knocking again.
