Kaizer Chiefs star Keagan Dolly looks set to receive a lifeline at the club for a potential new contract via their upcoming new coach, according to insiders privy to information.
In recent weeks, Soccer Laduma has reported Dolly's challenges from his latest injury, then that Chiefs have not decided on whether they would renew his contract or not due to various factors which are all connected.

Siya sources have indicated how Amakhosi bringing in a new coach could change things. Interim coach Cavin Johnson did not make any signings in January as the squad is virtually the same as it was when Molefi Ntseki took over the hot seat from Arthur Zwane at the beginning of the season.
"What is delaying the process and the decision would be the appointment of a new coach which is expected to happen at the end of the season. They don't want to take a decision now which will be against whoever will be the new coach," said the Siya source.
"So, they are doing things with caution and that's why it has taken a bit of time. But soon we will know what the future holds for Keagan (Dolly)," the source added.
A second Siya source discussed Dolly's contract situation to underline where the former Bafana Bafana star stands now.
"Yes, the initial contract is coming to an end at the end of the season but as of now there is no final decision that has been taken. I think all involved parties are moving carefully on this one. It's difficult to say because the club has a one-year option which they can exercise any time.
"It could seem late right now as the contract is ending soon but there is a good relationship between the player, his representatives and the club and that's why there is hope at the end of it all. But as far as what will happen, nothing has been decided yet," the source said.
A third Siya source discussed how Dolly's current injury has frustrated a player who would have been looking to impress at the climax of this season.
"You know he is nursing a toe injury now which could take up to six weeks to heal and that could be towards the end of the season.
"But again they want to see how he will be even if he returns. So, for now there is no decision yet," the source concluded.
This season Dolly has played only seven games in the PSL due to his injuries, and he's participated in one Carling Knockout match, providing one assist in the former competition and scoring no goals.
Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs for a comment but no response was received by the time this story was published.
