According to Siya sources, Kaizer Chiefs have made a decision on the future of Lebohang Lesako. This publication reported last month that there was no word on the club's trio of players who spent the 2022/23 season out on loan, with there also being no sight of them as part of the club's pre-season plans either.
Lesako, Darrel Matsheke (both Moroka Swallows) and Keletso Sifama (Casric Stars) were deemed surplus to requirements under the reign of then head coach, Arthur Zwane. The loan spell for Lesako, in particular, did not yield much in terms of game-time, as the 24-year-old featured just twice for the Dube Birds last season, both appearances coming in the form of a substitution from the bench.
He played 31 minutes in total. Now, indications from Siya sources are that the Naturena-based side has decided to part ways with the 24-year-old player and have handed him his clearance, meaning he is free to join any club of his choice, something Soccer Laduma understands he has wasted no time in doing.
Furthermore, according to sources, the Vanderbijlpark-born midfielder is likely to put pen to paper with last season's promotion hopefuls Casric Stars as a free agent. Since being promoted to the first team in the 2020/21 season, Lesako has only made three official appearances for the Glamour Boys.
