Orlando Pirates may have to look beyond Jayden Adams in their search for a midfielder as the Stellenbosch FC and Bafana Bafana star could prove to be difficult to get.
At the end of last season, Stellenbosch managed to deflect interest from the big guns in Adams as some of his former teammates, including Deano van Rooyen and Iqraam Rayners were snapped up Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns respectively.

Stellenbosch CEO Rob Benadie has repeatedly said that the Cape Winelands' outfit would not be able to lose more key players because the club's ambitions require that they keep them in coach Steve Barker's team.
Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns have also been linked to Adams who has been consistent for Stellies in recent seasons and in the Bafana set-up under Hugo Broos.
It is understood that as part of the plans to deflect interest from the big guns in the 23-year-old, Stellenbosch may increase the price when offers are made to scare the potential suitors off.
"Pirates did manage to get Deano van Rooyen from Stellenbosch at the end of last season, but it could be difficult for Adams for different reasons. Some of those reasons are that he is younger and is a national team player. Stellenbosch have big plans for him, and it won't be easy for any club that's interested to get him because he won't come cheap," said the source.
As reported by the Siya crew, Bucs are understood to have been prepared to pay money plus a player exchange for Adams, but it doesn't seem that it will be easy for the deal to go through.

Meanwhile, the Buccaneers appear to be working on a Plan B to add to their midfield, with the club having recently welcomed former Chippa United attacking midfielder Siphelele Luthuli for assessment under coach Jose Riveiro.
The 29-year-old is currently a free agent, having parted with the Chilli Boys at the end of last season.
